What Seeds to Plant for a Fall Garden
Can you believe it’s already that time? It feels like summer just got started, but fall is slowly (but surely) creeping it’s way up on us! We’re just a few short days away from August 1st, so you know what that means… it’s time to plan out your fall garden! If you’re not totally sure where to get started, what plants thrive in the cooler temperatures, or just need a little inspiration – this blog is for you! As always, I got all of my seeds for my fall 2026 garden from West Coast Seeds as they are my go-to place to purchase all of my seeds & bulbs. There’s everything from root veggies to greens and even a selection of spring bulbs on this list, so let’s get into it!
Vegetables
Of course, it wouldn’t be my garden if I wasn’t growing lots of delicious food! Of course, we’re definitely passed the point of being able to plant out hot weather crops like tomatoes & cucumbers, but there’s still so much you can plant in your fall garden! These crops absolutely thrive as the temperature cools off (a quick tip — your fall carrots will get even sweeter if you wait to harvest until after the first frost!):

Though these beauties would make their debut in the garden until spring 2027, right now is the time to get your spring bulbs planned out and planted out! This includes tulips, daffodils (narcissus), and hyacinths — here is the selection of spring bulbs that I can’t wait to enjoy next spring:
